With squishies it works the same. The box looks identical for everyone. Inside is one of several possible characters, and you find out only when the tissue paper comes off.

The thrill is real and it is not about greed. Psychologists call it variable reward: when the payoff is uncertain, the anticipation does half the work. It is the same fizz you get from opening a pack of trading cards, just squishier.

Rarity mechanics: Common to Ultra Rare

Squishy lines are sorted into tiers, and the tier decides how often that character shows up in a blind pick:

Five tips for starting a collection

• Pick a lane. Desserts, animals, or clear gel squishies. A themed shelf looks better than a random pile, twice as fast.
• Buy one mystery box first. It tells you which textures you actually squeeze daily. Then buy repeats of that texture on purpose.
• Track your tiers. Note which Rares and Ultra Rares you own. Trading is only fun when you know what you're holding.
• Doubles are currency. Two identical Commons equal one trade for the Rare you missed.
• Condition matters. Keep tags and boxes on pieces you plan to trade. A dented squishy trades like a dented card.
